Ralph J. Nappi

Ralph J. Nappi, CAE was named President of NPES and GASC in January, 2006. He brings over 30 years of experience in association management, distribution and manufacturing to these roles.

NPES is an association serving nearly 600 companies that develop and manufacture equipment, software and supplies used in virtually every printing, publishing, and packaging process.

GASC is a trade show management organization responsible for producing the largest printing industry trade shows in the Americas – including GRAPH EXPO and PRINT.  

Prior to joining NPES and GASC, Nappi worked for 19 years at the American Machine Tool Distributors’ Association (AMTDA) serving as its President from 1993 to 2005. AMTDA represents manufacturers, distributors and importers of machine tools and manufacturing technology.

In addition to his roles with NPES and GASC Nappi serves as president of the Graphic Arts Education and Research Foundation (GAERF). This foundation’s mission is to develop the next generation workforce for the graphic communications industry.   Nappi also sits on the Advisory Board for the New York University Graphic Communications Management and Technology Program.

In October of 2008 Nappi was inducted into NAPL’s prestigious Walter E. Soderstrom Society which recognizes leaders in the graphics industry. Nappi was awarded the Earl Sundeen Award from the International Graphic Arts Education Association for his contributions to education.

Nappi currently serves on the boards of the Small Business Legislative Council and the National Association of Manufacturers’ Associations Council and is a member of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce “Association Committee of 100,” which is comprised of the country’s leading trade association CEOs.
